  WT destroying old literature

  i was approached by an elder about a year ago asking what i am going to do with my large collection of wt literature.

  he told me the society had put word out that they were collecting old literature.

  i asked him why but he couldn't give me a definite answer.

  Ask him if they want your old paradise forever book. If he says yes then ask why for we saw with our own eyes the one day at bethel a couple of brothers standing in front of a huge pile of books on the ground ripping the hard covers off the books. The paper was going to a recycleing company.

  Why do all the COs have food intolerances/allergies/special dietary requirments?

  it's a well known phenomenon i've observed from jwn, my own cos. a new co we had once who was fresh from being a normal elder and after a couple of visits he said, "well i've finally become a true co...i now have food intolerances.".

  i mean, only once did my husband and i ever have a co around for dinner and they couldn't eat this, he couldn't eat that, she couldn't eat this...it was so hard to cook something with none of the zillions of things they were 'allergic' to.. and then after all that the wife couldn't come anyway because she had a naturopath appointment or something.. why do all co's seem to have weird dietary problems?.

  They don't complain when you serve them up steak, salad and fresh fruit salad. I remember one co right from a circuit assembly say that him and his wife refuse to eat canned salmon for a meal for it's like being served cat food. Another DO stated to me while eating steak that they were so sick and tired of going to peoples homes and being served pasta. That it seems lately that's all what people know to cook and I said maybe that's all they can afford. Total silence.

  this is my opinion, i don't have official quotes or official instructions to back this up.

  what i have is real life experience of having been an elder that was involved in investigating an allegation of child abuse, why we didn't report, why we didn't encourage the parents to report.. its simple really, the main reason elders don't report is concern that they may lose their position in the congregation.

  if you in any way "run ahead" of the society, you will be perceived as proud and arrogant and will be deleted!

  Thank you, skinned sheep. I sent your letter to him. Thank you villagegirl and yes we need more detailed cases. The names of these criminals or victims so he can interview them or investigate them. Again, he understands the dilema that ones are in who are still in the org.

  i just got permission from a friend of mine who works at abc news to contact him with any of these experiences on pedophiles.

  those who are willing to email him and be interviewed by him over the phone for now, could you please pm me and i will give you his email address.

  My fault for the way I wrote it and thank you, wiener! I started another thread for I would really like to help those who are hurting for life. I can't believe what we've been through and what is happening to us including what I had to endure growing up. There just doesn't seem to be any light at the end of our rainbow and now when one of the producers emailed me I felt that life has given me a purpose. I sure hope someone can help.

  I guess I should have writtne Ex elders Ex co's as well as Ex do's. Oops! And yes if you were to read my history you would see I was a born in then left and came back into this crap when in my forties along with my husband. We've only been in it now and are on our way out. Last week one of us got df'd and this week it's the other's turn. Lets get back to what I'm asking
